Although many people today reject Christianity for intellectual reasons, greater numbers of people are rejecting Christianity because it does not engage their imagination. Christians must not only demonstrate that the Christian worldview is true, but that it is also good, beautiful, and relevant. The Good News of the Return of the King: The Gospel in Middle-earth is a book that endeavors to show the truth, goodness, and beauty of Jesus Christ, the gospel, and the biblical metanarrative by engaging the imagination through J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, as well as The Hobbit and The Silmarillion. In this book, I propose that J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings is a story about what Jesus' parables are about: the good news about the return of the king. As a work of imaginative fiction similar to Jesus' parables, The Lord of the Rings can bypass both intellectual and imaginative objections to the gospel and pull back the "veil of familiarity" that obscures the gospel for many.

The book of Luke has been described as one of the most beautiful books ever written, and Luke: The Good News of God's Mercy brings this beauty to life for teens as they study the life of Jesus and what Jesus can mean for their lives. Luke s Gospel deals with the issue of being open to God s work through Jesus. Luke shows us that God has made salvation available through Jesus birth, life, death, and resurrection. In many ways, God s action through Jesus was unexpected, even for the Jewish people of the time. The salvation Jesus brings goes far beyond what people were looking for. It also makes demands on those who accept it. So we meet people in Luke s Gospel who are astonished by Jesus. They are struggling to understand what Jesus was offering them and how they should respond. In the Gospel of Luke, we make contact with a will other than our own. God shows that he is not a spectator-god who made a DVD of the universe billions of years ago and now sits back to watch. God has a loving plan; God makes things happen. It is this active, involved God who comes to Mary and tells her about his plan for her in Luke s Gospel. As we begin reading the Gospel of Luke, are we prepared to meet this God? Designed as a guided discovery, Six Weeks with the Bible for Catholic Teens introduces high school students to books of the Bible by integrating the biblical text with insightful questions to help youth discern what Scripture means for their lives today. The series provides students with a clear explanation of Biblical text, opportunities for prayer, and a means to enter into conversation with God. "

God has assumed a significant role in the sex lives of believers. It is God who decrees which types of sexual expression are permitted, and which forbidden. Through the Church, a patriarchal sexual landscape has been enacted to control sexual bodies which exerts its influence even in our secular culture. The Good News of the Body is a wide-ranging anthology on feminist sexual theology. Noting that Jesus, while being declared divine, took human form, the volume questions what happens when the flesh, rather than the Word, is placed at the center of theological reflection. What happens when women's bodies form the incarnational starting point for sexual politics and theology? Contributors, including Rosemary Ruether, Mary Hunt, and Melissa Raphael, examine such topics as the possibility of a Roman Catholic approach to sexuality bringing together the three aspects of Christian love of eros, philia, and agape; Jewish sexual and mystical teaching; the de-sexing of the disabled; erotic celibacy; human sexuality and the concept of the goddess; and the sometimes surprisingly similar conclusions about contraception reached by feminists and popes.
