Organizing My House: Let It Begin!
I’m not a type A personality, so reorganizing anything is not something I’m itching to do. But, I know how important being organized is on so many levels.
- You don’t have to dig for an item when you know exactly where it is
- Clean-up is so much easier when you’re organized
- Life seems less chaotic
- It’s energizing
- It’s comforting
There are a few areas in the house that need attention and my plan is to tackle one area per week. Here’s my order:
- Pantry
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms
- Office Filing Cabinet
- Linen Closet
I’ll be following A Bowl Full of Lemons‘ organization ideas for these areas. (There are other time and space organization sites, but this is the one I have found to be the most helpful. Her site is clean and neat and it is such a pleasure to browse through!)
I’ve chosen the pantry as my first assignment, not that it’s really bad, but it’s not that good, either. It just doesn’t seem too daunting a task and I don’t want to start this adventure with an “I’m overwhelmed!” feeling. There are some rooms on her list, like the dining room, that don’t apply to me. I have no storage in that room. I’ve compiled my list in a different order than she does according to what I want to accomplish each week.
I’m looking forward to showing you what I’ve accomplished! I will post pics of the before and after. If you want to hop on over and take a look at how she does her organizing and then join me on this adventure, I’d love to see what you’ve done with your area.
Every Thursday I’ll post about my results. I hope you’ll join me!

Looking forward to joining you, Jennifer! I have to get on some serious spring cleaning here, so am glad to have your inspiration.
Blessings!
