Blog Tour: Love in a Broken Vessel

Hosea and Gomer knew each other as children, but life sent them in very different directions with little to no hope of seeing each other again.

Being a prophet, Hosea has heard from God before, but nothing could have prepared him for the strangest message of all: go to Israel and take a harlot for a wife. God wanted to use this marriage as an illustration of his relationship with Israel.

Little did Hosea know Gomer would be that harlot. She has closed her heart to Jehovah and assumes all people, not just men, will abandon her. Why should Hosea be different?

Will Hosea be able to continue to show Gomer the kind of love God shows his people even in the midst of unfaithfulness? Will Gomer ever open up her heart to God and to Hosea.
Mesu Andrews has a gift for portraying characters in a way that helps the reader to identify with them. Hosea with his heartbreak and love for both Gomer and Israel. Gomer with her struggle to continuously return to the familiar.

  1. It never ceases to amaze me how God can use our brokenness to produce His will for His kingdom. I know He has done so in my life, and this sounds like a book I should read soon!
    Blessings, Jennifer!
