Iscariot: A Review

He followed the law and worked hard to obtain favor with God in his life. He only wanted to please Him.

What went wrong? What on earth could have caused him to betray the very One who called him…Friend?

Judas. We love to hate him. Maybe because he had the chance to walk with the very One who could redeem him and save him from himself, but instead of giving his life completely to Jesus, he betrayed Him.

What brought Judas to the brink of ruin? How could he betray this Man who loved him so much? Could it be that there is so much more to this story than meets the eye?

After three years of research, Tosca Lee has taken the life of this notorious man and humanized him. She studied his time and culture and woven together a story that blends the beauty of Jesus and the sincerity of a man who only wanted to rescue his country from the clutches of Rome. His desire was for the Kingdom.

I have to admit that this book takes us down a completely different road in the character of Judas than the one I am used to. Lee portrays Judas as a man who was sincere, instead of the evil, conniving person we are so used to reading about. However, no matter what you think of Judas, you will enjoy this beautifully written book!

“Tosca Lee is a  New York Times  best-selling novelist whose works include the critically acclaimed Demon: A Memoir, Havah: The Story of Eve,  and The Books of Mortals series (Forbidden, Mortal, Sovereign) with best-selling author Ted Dekker.” 1

  1. Judas lives within us all. We think we have the answers. We think we know the way. All along, it is only God who knows. Judas is such a true portrayal of the direction our country is taking at the present time. We can learn so much . . .
